Salary: $110,000 – $175,000 + Performance-Based Bonus Potential

The Role
We are seeking a Director of Construction to take on a senior leadership role overseeing business development (marketing and sales), client strategy, pre-construction, and high-level project oversight. This role reports directly to the President, Mark Goldberg, and is integral to the company’s next phase of growth and leadership succession.
This position is ideal for a dynamic individual who thrives on building relationships, guiding complex construction projects, and taking initiative. Business development and client stewardship are central to the role—you’ll be the face of MG & Company in many client and design team relationships, while also supporting internal project strategy and execution.
This is a senior leadership role with the potential to grow into a Vice President or Partner-level position, depending on performance.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Client Strategy
- Maintain and grow MG & Company’s client base while cultivating new relationships, particularly in hospitality
- Cultivate new business through outreach to architects, designers, and developers
- Represent the company at industry events and client meetings
- Act as a strategic partner to clients—balancing design intent, budget, and constructability
Pre-Construction & Project Strategy
- Collaborate with clients and design teams in early-stage planning
- Provide conceptual budgets, feasibility studies, and pre-construction schedules
- Advocate for contractor involvement early in the design process to streamline execution
Estimating & Project Oversight
- Collaborate with project managers, supers, and subcontractors to provide accurate estimates and schedules
- Ensure a seamless transition from pre-construction to active project management
- Oversee multiple projects while providing targeted support
Communication & Leadership
- Serve as a senior liaison to high-profile clients, architects, and vendors
- Represent MG & Company with professionalism and clarity in all interactions
Who You Are
- A seasoned professional with at least 5 years of experience in construction, architecture, project management, or a related field
- Formal training in architecture, engineering, or construction management is a plus
- A polished communicator who can engage with both laborers and executives with ease
- Strategic, relationship-driven, and detail-oriented
- Proficient in ProCore, SmartSheets, and Microsoft Office
- Based in NYC, primarily in-person, with flexibility for remote work
- Able to pass a background check (subject to applicable law)
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $110,000 – $175,000, based on experience
