The Role
We’re seeking a Business Development & Project Strategy Lead to oversee marketing, sales, client relations, and pre-construction services. This role requires a dynamic individual who can engage with high-profile hospitality executives, architects, and designers while understanding construction and project management. You’ll expand MG & Company’s client base, strengthen industry relationships, and guide projects from concept to completion with a strategic and pragmatic approach.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
- Maintain and grow MG & Company’s client base while cultivating new relationships, particularly in hospitality.
- Engage architects, designers, and developers to position MG & Company as an early collaborator in the construction process.
- Represent the company at industry events and client meetings.
Pre-Construction & Project Strategy
- Assist clients in early-stage planning, ensuring architectural concepts align with budgetary and construction realities.
- Develop project feasibility assessments, budgets, and schedules.
- Advocate for contractor involvement early in design to streamline execution and reduce costly revisions.
Estimating & Project Management Support
- Collaborate with project managers to provide accurate estimates, schedules, and strategic guidance.
- Ensure a seamless transition from pre-construction to active project management.
- Oversee multiple projects while providing targeted support.
Client & Team Communication
- Serve as a key liaison for high-profile clients, translating their vision into buildable projects.
- Work closely with laborers, subcontractors, and project managers to align expectations with execution.
- Clearly communicate construction and design concepts to diverse stakeholders.
Who You Are
- A seasoned professional with at least 5 years of experience in construction, architecture, design, project management, or a related field.
- Formal training a plus.
- A polished communicator who can engage with both laborers and executives with ease.
- A strategic thinker with expertise in construction, design, and business development.
- A driven professional who takes ownership of relationships and company growth.
- Proficient in construction management software (ProCore, SmartSheets, Microsoft Office).
- Based in NYC, primarily in-person, with flexibility for remote work.
- Able to pass a background check (subject to applicable law).
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $115,000 – $145,000 (with performance-based bonus potential).
